How to Make Multiple Entries in Craigslist

Craigslist is a heavily trafficked website providing free classified ads. It's a good place to post ads if you need to sell something, find a new employee or even browse personal ads. Unfortunately, if you are selling multiple items or hiring for multiple positions at a company, you'll quickly discover that Craigslist doesn't let you post multiple entries within the same 48-hour period. If you try to post several entries in rapid succession, you could be temporary blocked from posting. Fortunately, a method exists to create multiple entries in Craigslist without getting blocked.

Instructions

    • 1
Write each posting with unique text. Even when you bypass the 48-hour rule, your posts must still be unique. Craigslist doesn't tolerate spam, and Craigslist uses an automated program to find and flag similar postings. Make sure each advertisement is truly for a different item or job listing. If you try to post spam on Craigslist, you will get caught. Spam is not illegal, but you and your computer's IP address could be permanently banned from Craigslist if you are caught.
    • 2
Visit the Craigslist website and click the "Post to Classifieds" link at the top left-hand side of the main Craigslist page.
    • 3
Select a category for your entry, paste your ad into the template and enter your email address in the blank provided.
    • 4
Click "Add/Edit Images" to add any pictures to the listing. Only use your own original pictures, as other images could be copyrighted.
    • 5
Click "Continue." You may be prompted to re-enter a code that appears on-screen. The code is designed to prevent automated posting programs and spammers.
    • 6
Check your email. There will be an email from Craigslist. Click on the link in email, and a new window opens in your browser displaying a tentative copy of your listing.
    • 7
Review your listing, and click "Edit" if you notice any errors. If the Craigslist entry looks good, click "Post" to finalize the listing.
    • 8
Create a free email account. Many websites provide free email services with only minimal personal information and a brief sign-up process, including Yahoo!, Google and Hotmail.
    • 9
Repeat Steps 1 through 8 with your next posting, but use your alternate email address.
